Postecoglou has revealed there's a "leak" in the Tottenham dressing room after reports emerged that Wilson Odobert had suffered another hamstring injury ahead of Tottenham's Europa League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt. Odobert was actually passed fit for the match and was an unused substitute.

Postecoglou told reporters: "Look, there is no doubt we have got a leak inside the club. Somebody who continues to leak out information. They have all year. I don’t know why. It doesn’t help us. It just makes our job more difficult. We try really hard to keep things in-house like all clubs because we don’t want on game day opposition being aware of any sort of team selection, but we’ve got somebody within our camp who continually gives out information. We’ve narrowed it down, we’ve been looking at it for quite a while and kind of have a fair idea of where it is coming from. We’ll deal with it but it’s not helpful for us and half of it is misinformation, half of it is half of the information but irrespectively, it certainly doesn’t help our cause because on game day what you want to try and do is keep as much information in-house. We try really hard to find out information about the opposition but with us, someone has an open line to what we do. It’s disappointing because you’d like to think everyone who is in our camp is working with us, not against us.”

Tottenham's leak is the latest problem for Postecoglou to handle in what has been a difficult season for the Spurs boss and has led to speculation he could be sacked. Postecoglou's team currently sit down in 14th place in the Premier League table but are into the quarter-finals of the Europa League. However, they face an uphill task qualifying for the last four after being held to a draw at home to Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their tie.

The Lilywhites are without a plethora of first-team players in Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ben Davies, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Wilson Odobert and Timo Werner. This has been a reoccurring theme of Tottenham’s season, who’ve been very unlucky when it comes to injuries, but Postecoglou is still facing real backlash amid what is so far a disappointing second campaign in charge.

They next face David Moyes’ Everton, who have just hired their ex-boss to replace Sean Dyche, as the Friedkin Group look to kick-start a better era for the club.

The Merseysiders are fighting for their top flight status ahead of their move to a state of the art new stadium for next season, so they won’t be easy customers. However, nothing but a win will do for Postecoglou’s side, who are miles off where they were this time last campaign.

Tottenham are busy attempting to back Postecoglou in the January transfer market, but a report this week has claimed Tottenham are doing their due-diligence on potential replacements for the 59-year-old, should they decide to part company in the summer.

Tottenham could approach Edin Terzić to replace Ange Postecoglou

As per TEAMtalk, chairman Daniel Levy has his eyes on former Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzić.

The German guided Dortmund to an unprecedented Champions League final at the end of last season, and also managed to win two major trophies during his time in the Bundesliga.

Interestingly, West Ham held talks with Terzic over replacing Julen Lopetegui, before they landed on Graham Potter, and the 42-year-old has been praised for his “incredible” work at Dortmund.

As per TEAMtalk, Tottenham could sound out Terzic if they sack Postecoglou later in the year, pending an end-of-season review, and those within the club are said to really appreciate the “elite” tactician.

For now, it is believed that Postecoglou retains the backing of Spurs’ board, but how long this lasts looks very likely to depend on their second half of 24/25.

With 2025 underway and the January transfer window now open, Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to sign an £8m star for Mikel Arteta alongside interest from Premier League rivals Manchester United.

Much to the Gunners’ frustration, they welcomed a cup goalkeeper in the form of Neto only to quickly realise that their cup goalkeeper would not be able to play in the very competition that he arrived to feature in. Now, that same opportunity could fall Lammens’ way.

With the fixtures coming thick and fast and Arsenal already paying the consequences for overplaying Saka, the last thing that Arteta needs is another injury to a key player, perhaps making Lammens’ potential arrival key. The 22-year-old has impressed at Royal Antwerp and could one day replace Raya on a permanent basis, given that the Spaniard is already 29 years old.

The numbers paint quite the picture and highlight exactly why Arsenal are reportedly interested in landing Lammens’ signature ahead of Manchester United. The Royal Antwerp star is a true all-rounder, whether that’s in the shot-stopping department or, just as crucially, with the ball at his feet.

It would represent significant planning if Arsenal managed to secure the heir to Raya’s number one role at this stage for just £8m. As January gets underway, it will certainly be interesting to see just how much of a priority the goalkeeper’s signature becomes at The Emirates with Arteta’s side eyeing a title comeback in the Premier League.

Northamptonshire 353 for 7 (Rickelton 95, Procter 78, Young 61) lead Gloucestershire 317 (Bracey 79, Dent 54, Higgins 50) by 36 runsRyan Rickelton fell five short of a century as Northamptonshire built a first-innings lead over Gloucestershire on the second day of the LV= Insurance County Championship match at Cheltenham College.The 26-year-old member of South Africa’s Test squad, already with two Championship hundreds under his belt in his first three games for Northants, hit 13 fours and a six in helping them post 353 for seven in reply to Gloucestershire’s 317.Luke Procter contributed 78 and skipper Will Young 61, while left-arm spinner Zafar Gohar clamed four for 93 from 31 overs.Overcast conditions offered encouragement to the home seam attack when Northants began the day on 30 without loss.With 16 runs added, Emilio Gay pushed half forward to a delivery from David Payne and fell lbw for 15.But that was as good as it got for Gloucestershire as Young and Rickelton settled in to enjoy full value for their shots on the parched College Ground outfield.There were plenty of sweetly-timed drives from both Test players, Young moving to a 109-ball half-century with a straight six off Zafar.The New Zealander had also struck 10 crisp fours and it was a major surprise when he fell just before lunch, caught behind pushing forward to Zafar with the score on 132.Three runs were added before lunch was taken at 135 for two, from 40 overs, with Rickelton unbeaten on 42.The in-form left-hander went to fifty off 90 balls, with eight fours, at the start of the afternoon session and celebrated by sweeping a six over deep square off Zafar.It proved a frustrating session for Gloucestershire’s bowlers. On the resumption, Procter reached his half-century, having faced 116 deliveries and hit 7 fours.Tom Taylor could make only a single before falling leg before to Zafar to make it 257 for four. The second new ball was then taken and accounted for Rob Keogh, caught and bowled by Zak Chappell off a leading edge for 13.Gloucestershire looked back in the game when Procter was bowled by Tom Price to end a 170-ball innings featuring 10 fours, with Northants still 18 runs behind.But Lewis McManus put the visitors in front with a glorious cover driven four off Price and then swept Zafar for six on his return to the attack.With a fourth batting point in the bag, McManus became Zafar’s fourth victim, bowled sweeping for a useful 29. James Sales was unbeaten on 21 at stumps, with his side 36 runs ahead.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa are now preparing to advance on their deal to sign Loic Bade from Sevilla this month as Diego Carlos edges closer and closer to the exit door.

With that said, those at Villa Park will reportedly have to pay up to £25m to convince Sevilla into a sale before the end of the month in what could quickly turn into a bargain deal.

"Warrior" Bade would be an excellent coup

For just £42m, Bade could quickly become a bargain buy for Aston Villa given how he would upgrade their backline for years to come. The Frenchman has found himself at the centre of praise when playing for both France and Sevilla, with analyst Ben Mattinson going as far as describing the defender as a “warrior” towards the end of last year.

Still just 24 years old too, there’s plenty more to come from Bade – making Aston Villa’s potential investment at this stage all the more worthwhile.

In one swoop, the Villans could be about to land two La Liga defenders who are perfectly capable of providing Emery with an upgraded backline in the remainder of the campaign. And that could prove to be the difference in Aston Villa’s battle to secure a top four place for a second consecutive season in the Premier League.
