According to Calcio Mercato, Manchester United are now in pole position to sign Ferdi Kadioglu from Fenerbahce this summer as they look to take one of former manager Jose Mourinho's best players in a deal worth just €30m (£25m).

The left-back starred at Euro 2024 in an impressive Turkey side eventually eliminated at the last eight stage by the Netherlands in a narrow 2-1 defeat, and the Red Devils are now "above all" with their interest in the player.

The defeat far from tainted the reputation that Kadioglu built up throughout the tournament, and he still remains an in-demand player this summer. Given how Luke Shaw struggled for fitness last season, welcoming Kadioglu would represent solid business from a Manchester United standpoint as they look to hand Ten Hag much-needed defensive depth.

Yet, Mikel Arteta has described his ex-number one 'keeper as "exceptional" in the past and he could more than prove his worth moving to the Saints, especially if he can help play his part in Martin's men staving off the drop.

Sri Lanka fast bowler Dhammika Prasad has announced his retirement from international cricket at age 37.Prasad played the last of his 25 Tests in October 2015, following which a serious shoulder injury impeded his career. Prasad eventually made a first-class comeback, following surgery, but could not quite break back into the national team.Before that injury, however, he was one of Sri Lanka’s premier quicks, remembered with particular fondness for his second-innings 5 for 50 at Headingley in 2014, which led to Sri Lanka winning their first series in England. That was his only five-wicket haul in Tests, but he was nevertheless impressive at home in 2015, taking four wickets in an innings consecutively against India.Prasad finished with 75 Test wickets at an average of 35.97, and also took 32 ODI wickets at 30.50 in 24 games. He may not have to wait long for another new teammate, either. According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have now booked a medical to complete the signing of Yang Min-hyuk from Gangwon FC. The South Korean winger will reportedly become a Spurs player before re-joining Gangwon on loan until January, when he will finally join up with Postecoglou's side full-time.

Just 18 years old, Yang follows the trend of potential future stars walking through the door in north London so far this summer, joining both Gray and Bergvall.

Yang is an "immense talent"

A player who can play on the left and right wing, Yang may well be the heir to Son Heung-min's place in years to come. The Lilywhites' star man is now 32 years old and is likely to be past his best within the next couple of seasons, handing those in north London with a problem that Yang could yet solve.

Son is likely someone who Yang has been watching for some time given the Spurs man's role as South Korea's captain, and the youngster could now go on to link up with Son at both club and international level. Described as an "immense talent" by DataMB after scoring eight goals and assisting a further four in all competitions last season, the teenager looks set to make his biggest move yet.

Sunderland will have everything crossed this off-season that they can somehow keep hold of Jack Clarke ahead of the coming campaign, valiantly fending off any suitors interested in their star-man's services as a positive Championship term awaits.

Regis Le Bris will know, even if Clarke does stay put, that the Black Cats need a sprinkling of firepower in the forward positions, having been far too goal-shy last campaign away from the exploits of the ex-Leeds United winger.

Whoever does end up winning his services, with Hadjuk Split, FC Twente and VFL Bochum named as other interested parties from across Europe, the lucky winner would be gaining Vipotnik for free after his contract with the ex-Ligue 2 team was torn up after the club went out of business.

The Slovenia international will be on the hunt for a new place to call home, therefore, with Sunderland hopeful he will pick England over the other array of potential next onward destinations.

With Mendy's move to the Stadium of Light stuck on hold at this moment in time, the Black Cats might see this swoop as an easier one to get over the line, owing to the 22-year-old's new free agent status.

Starring for Bordeaux before their recent demise, Vipotnik had also managed to garner a reputation for being a reliable striker in the same league as Mendy, but could be snapped up for £0 away from his fellow attacker's bold £4.2m price-tag.

Le Bris clearly wants to add in top talents from his native country this summer, having come up against these stars in the flesh when he was still Lorient manager, allowing him to get a flavour for how they perform before now swooping in.

There is definitely room for the in-demand 22-year-old to develop further and hone in on his skills in front of goal too, with 16 big chances missed for Vipotnik last season, with ten goals an impressive tally overall from just 25 starts.

Only needing 14.2 touches per clash in order to regularly make an impact, the free agent forward could live more up to his billing as a "poacher" – as was handed to him by football talent scout Jacek Kulig – surrounded by the likes of Clarke feeding him chances on Wearside.

The goal above from Nazariy Rusyn last campaign showcases Clarke at his explosive best darting forward for the Black Cats, twisting and turning shirts attempting to shut him out, before finding his Ukrainian teammate to tap home.

Vipotnik could well excel playing in a similar manner, with Rusyn only finding the back of the net a meagre two times last campaign in the second tier, which has left Sunderland hunting for a potent striker.

This means that Clarke could help Vipotnik to shine by creating high-quality chances for the forward to find the back of the net, which is backed up by his 12 'big chances' created in the division last term.

Mendy's 22 goals in Ligue 2 could well have filled that gap, but with that move taking an age to get over the line, seeking out a cheap alternative in Vipotnik could prove to be a shrewd move to ensure that the Black Cats bolster their strike force before the window slams shut.

Everton are interested in completing the signing of a "special" player in a potential £25.6m deal this summer, a new transfer report has claimed.

The start of the new Premier League season is now within touching distance, as the Blues prepare to host Brighton on Saturday afternoon. Everton eyeing move for "special" £25.6m prospect

According to a new report from Marca on Monday morning [via Goodison News], Everton are pondering a move for Barcelona youngster Vitor Roque this summer, with the 19-year-old valued at £25.6m.

The Blues intend to try and snap him up before the August 30th deadline in the summer transfer window, with the Catalan giants willing to sell him on loan or permanently, should another club bid the aforementioned amount for him.

Roque has struggled to be a prominent figure at Barca since arriving from his homeland, and he may feel that this summer is the perfect time to be a key man elsewhere having played just 320 minutes of La Liga action last season. Given his long-term ceiling, he could be such an exciting signing for Everton, who still badly need more attacking quality in their squad.

Former Atletico Madrid star Diego has described the teenager as a "special" player, and the fact that he has already won one cap for Brazil, not to mention scoring seven times in 12 caps for the Under-20s, says so much about his ability.

It would feel like a signing of real intent by Everton, even if there is a reason Barca are happy to let him leave, and his South America flair could light up Goodison.

West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing an "exciting" forward on loan ahead of Championship rivals Sunderland, according to Sky Sports.

According to Sky Sports reporter James Savundra, West Brom are interested in signing AFC Bournemouth forward Daniel Jebbison. Sunderland are also keen on the player who joined the Cherries on a free transfer earlier in the window, with a loan move to the second tier seemingly on the cards.

Jebbison, previously of Sheffield United, was praised by AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake after the club secured his services, saying: "We're very pleased to have Daniel sign a long-term deal with us. He has many promising attributes, and has already provided some memorable moments in his young career so far. We look forward to overseeing Daniel continue his development, in an environment which will provide every opportunity to help him fulfil that exciting potential."
